Easter

I ordered their Easter baskets from Pottery Barn not knowing how HUGE they are! The poor kids will never be able to carry them! That's OK though - they made for great pictures!

Where has the time gone?

My mom just informed me that I haven't blogged since November! Well, mom, I just haven't had time! Basketball season kept us very busy!
Exciting things are happening! The twins are growing like weeds and really showing their personalities. They smile at everyone and light up any room they are in. Drew is crawling and pulling up on EVERYTHING. Sweet Gwendalynn just scoots backwards!
I started making my own baby food - what an experience! It's really easy to do once you get going. It has saved us sooooo much money! It's definitely worth it for all moms to try! Here is an excellent website to use as a reference: http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/.
Until next time, be well!

Sleepover!

Doug and I are fortunate enough to have his parents watch the twins two days a week. They come down on Tuesday morning and stay until Wednesday after school. It's so nice to have extra hands, especially since basketball is about to start... SIGH!

Well, this week was the exception to our normal Tuesday/Wednesday routine... THE TWINS HAD THEIR FIRST SLEEPOVER!! Nani and Popi took them back to Greenville with them Tuesday night. Doug and I had open house at school, so we weren't going to be home most of the evening. Once I got home from school on Tuesday, I helped get bags packed, diapers and wipes together, bottles, formula, LOTS and LOTS of bibs and burpees (sweet Gwendalynn spits up like it's her job).

Once they hit the road, I had about an hour before I had to leave to go back to school. Doug was at open gym, so I had the house to myself. PERFECT! That was the time to sit on the couch and watch TV or take a nap! WRONG! What did I do? I organized my closet! Yes, you read that correctly! Although it was much needed, I totally should have taken advantage of the down time. I blame my mom for my "busy body" personality! Mom can't just sit back and relax either! :o)

The sleepover was a complete success. The twins were wonderful and didn't wear Nani and Popi out too much. Now it's time to schedule a sleepover with Pa Pa and Mer Mer (my mom and dad)!!

What's in a name?

Naming a child has to be the hardest yet most important thing to do! As soon as we found out that we were having a boy and a girl, the wheels started turning! I knew that I wanted to name the girl Gwendalynn, but I had no clue about the boy. We also knew that we wanted to keep the names a secret... everyone was DYING to know the names. About a week or so before the twins arrived, we decided on the name Drew.

Sweet Beginnings

We were fortunate enough to have a WONDERFUL photographer for their newborn pictures! Thanks so much KIM HINKLE for capturing this special time in our lives! I tear up every time I see this pictures!

Welcome...

OK! So maybe I am crazy for starting a blog, but to me, it seems like the perfect getaway from a stressful day. Perhaps it will be where I tell the tales of Gwendalynn and Drew. Maybe it will just be another time waster for me. No matter what, I am going to give it a go. If it works, great! If not, oh well!

I want this to be a place where friends can keep up with my busy life, moms can vent, and people can laugh and feel uplifted! My goal is not to rant and rave and be a negative Nancy or be that mom who is always bragging about her children. May this be a blog for new moms, moms with multiples or even those who are thinking of becoming moms. If you're not a mom, I hope I don't scare you! :o)

Most likely, I won't post everyday or even every week... I'll post on days when I don't feel like grading papers or planning for the week! Please join with me as I venture into the world of blogging! Wish me luck!
